Alphagan Eye Drop 5ml
Product details
Active Ingredients & Composition
- Brimonidine Tartrate IP (2 mg / 0.2% w/v): An alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that lowers internal eye pressure through a dual action—reducing the production of fluid (aqueous humor) and increasing its drainage from the eye.
- Benzalkonium Chloride IP (0.05 mg): Serves as the primary antimicrobial preservative.
- Purified Water IP: q.s. (quantity sufficient).
Key Benefits
- Dual-Action Pressure Management: Lowers internal fluid accumulation while actively stimulating alternative drainage channels (uveoscleral outflow).
- Targeted Optic Nerve Protection: Rapidly controls intraocular spikes to safeguard the optic nerve against structural damage.
- Long-Term Efficacy: Formulated to provide stable, sustained ocular pressure regulation when used as directed by your physician.
- Premium Quality Standard: Manufactured under AbbVie's strict clinical guidelines for guaranteed batch-to-batch purity and safety.
Directions for Use
- Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before handling the dropper bottle.
- Tilt your head back slightly, look upward, and gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
- Invert the bottle and squeeze exactly one drop into the pocket. Do not let the dropper tip touch your eye, hands, or any surface to prevent bacterial contamination.
- Close your eye gently and apply soft pressure to the inner corner of your eye (near the nose) for 1 to 2 minutes to reduce systemic absorption into the bloodstream.
- If wearing contact lenses: Remove them prior to application and wait a minimum of 15 minutes before reinserting, as the preservative can be absorbed by soft lenses.
