Combigan Eye Drop 5ml
Product details
Active Ingredients & Composition
Each ml of the ophthalmic solution contains a combination of two pressure-lowering agents:
- Brimonidine Tartrate IP (2 mg / 0.2% w/v): An alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that decreases fluid production and simultaneously enhances alternative drainage (uveoscleral outflow) from the eye.
- Timolol Maleate IP (equivalent to Timolol 5 mg / 0.5% w/v): A non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker that lowers internal eye pressure by significantly reducing the formation of aqueous humor (fluid) inside the ciliary body.
- Benzalkonium Chloride IP (0.05 mg): Serves as the primary antimicrobial preservative.
- Purified Water IP: q.s. (quantity sufficient).
Combigan Ophthalmic Solution (5 ml) – Product Description
Key Benefits
- Dual-Action Pressure Control: Merges a beta-blocker and an alpha-agonist to target pressure from two biological pathways.
- Optic Nerve Protection: Rapidly lowers intraocular pressure (IOP) to stall or prevent glaucoma progression.
- Optimized Fluid Dynamics: Decreases overall internal eye fluid production while actively stimulating alternative outflow drainage channels.
- Sustained Efficacy: Formulated to maintain stable pressure regulation throughout the day under a doctor's standard dosing regimen.
Directions for Use
- Clean your hands comprehensively before opening the container.
- Tilt your head backward, look upward toward the ceiling, and pull down your lower eyelid to generate a pocket.
- Invert the dropper bottle and squeeze a single drop into the eye pocket as directed by your physician.
- Close your eye gently and press the inner corner of your eye (near the nose) with a clean finger for 1 to 2 minutes to minimize systemic absorption into the bloodstream.
